This Year's Model Updates:

Only minor changes are in store for the Miata this year. Base models receive standard 16-inch alloy wheels, a strut-tower brace, larger brakes and a child seat anchoring system. Cloth replaces vinyl on the top of the LS model, and tan leather gives way to a lighter parchment-colored hide. Also, the LS receives aluminum-colored interior trim and, for the first time, black leather is available as an option. New options include a cargo net, an auto-dimming mirror with an integrated compass and outside temperature display and special bezels for the headlights and taillights.

Pros:
  • Tremendous fun to drive, excellent steering and handling, glass rear window with defogger.
Cons:
  • Small trunk, drones during freeway trips, tight cabin.

  • My dream car! - 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Just purchased 2003 LS in triple black with 6-speed, antilock brackes and suspension package. 60 month financing at 0 percent made new possible instead of used. Beauty and fun all in one perfect package.

A true roadster! Light, small and agile. What more could a sports car aficionado want? A modern classic.

  • What an excellent car! - 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata

This is my second Miata, my first being a 93. I have found this car to be a dream to drive. It is fun, reliable, and simple. Aftermarket accessories abound, and its easy to work on yourself. They are not expensive, and no other car has such an enthusiastic following. It is simply the most fun you can drive!

Took delivery of my new 2003 Miata SE in Strato Blue Mica on 5/28/04. Had a 2003 Tribute ES V6 and loved it, but the looks of the Miata, plus what I knew about the features, reliability, and quality of the car made my decision to trade an easy one. Ive never owned a convertible before, but its been an easy adjustment, even though I dont have room to haul much of anything. For me, thats a minor trade-off. This being my third Mazda, I can honestly say that Mazda now has a customer for life. Ive had the top down most of the time and get plenty of comments on my great looking SE. Looking forward to enjoying it for many years to come!

Fun to drive, turns on a dime, solid construction, quiet engine, and any bad day turns good with the top down.

Great Fun sar. Better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow ... but this car is not slow. Had it for 6 weeks and have not driven it with the top up yet! Snug fit but thats part of the fun. It was the Miata or the MINI Cooper S. When I thought about reliability, (top down) fun factor and styling the Miata won. Ive got a minivan for the 2 kids. This is a Sports Car.

This is for a 2002. The caris greatfun. The car handles beautifully on both the straightaway and on curves. I bought a six speed but the difference between the fifth gear and the sixth gear is very little. If I did it over I would purchase the five gear. This car is what its all about when it comes to light weight top down sports cars. A touch more power wouldnt hurt but the car as it is has good power if you use the gears properly, that is take each gear to or near the red line. I had a probelm with the fuel tank, which was fixed by the dealer quickly with no questions asked.

Look around first to get a feel for whats out there. You will know a nice one when you see it. Look for maintenance records.

  • New and fresh indeed - 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Anyone looking for a special used MX-5 should take the time and effort to find the Shinsen Edition, made only in 2003. It draws many looks and inquiries. Great gas mileage also. Close to 30 mpg with no babying at all. Just pure fun.
